Our project coordinator and manager, Dr. Carmen Sanchez Guevara, PhD, from the Technical University of Madrid presented Cooltorise project at the European Sustainable Energy Week 2022 event, at the session “Diversifying the energy transition: gender perspectives in energy poverty policies”. The accent was on gender perspective, and larger inclusion of women, especially single parent mothers, in fighting summer energy poverty, and building a sustainable energy culture. Good examples have been given on feminization of energy poverty from the city of Madrid, Spain.
Mrs. Carmen Guevara shared the activities that have been presented over the latest summer, with workshops such as Cooltorise Coolkids and groups with vulnerable people who are mostly single parent families (in this case most of them are women). Useful tips and recommendations were given on how to involve vulnerable citizens in processes to tackle summer energy poverty.
