The Spanish training strategy for the first summer:

In Spain, the first summer saw the training of 65 SEPAs volunteers and 8 SEPAs coordinators. SEPAs volunteers mostly came from the University through Service-Learning activities, particularly from the School of Architecture in Madrid. Coordinators from ABD, Ecoserveis and UPM co-designed the training and participated on the training of volunteers.

Nine modules make up the SEPAs volunteer training programme: 1) COOLTORISE; 2) Energy poverty; 3) Summer energy culture; 4) Energy markets; 5) Energy bills optimisation; 6) Workshops organisation; 7) Indoor kits and outdoor interventions; 8) Communication and managerial skills; 9) Ethics and GDPR.

The training was entirely face-to-face. The lectures, however, were recorded and made available to SEPAs on Moodle for future reference. The recording, having been made automatically in the University’s premises, has a poor audio quality; therefore, this material has remained for internal use and has not been disseminated through public platforms.

Module 1 – Cooltorise This module provides a general overview of the Cooltorise project and its objectives.		Module 2 – Pobreza energética This module explains the concept of (summer) energy poverty, and its social and health implications. It also gives practical solutions to tackle it.
Este módulo ofrece una visión general del proyecto Cooltorise y sus objetivos.		Este módulo explica el concepto de pobreza energética (de verano) y sus implicaciones sociales y para la salud. También ofrece soluciones prácticas para atajarla.

Module 3 – Cultura energética This module describes the fundamentals of indoor comfort and reviews the different strategies that can be used at three scales: user, building and urban.		Module 4 – Mercados energéticos This module shows the structure of the Iberian energy market, the different types of suppliers and contracts available, as well as how the cost of energy for households is shaped.
Este módulo describe los fundamentos del confort interior y repasa las diferentes estrategias de las que se puede hacer uso de acuerdo a tres escalas: usuario, edificio y urbano.		Este módulo muestra la estructura del mercado energético ibérico (electricidad y gas), los diferentes tipos de comercializadoras y contratos disponibles, así como la conformación del coste de la energía para los hogares.

Module 5 – Optimización de facturas This module focuses on understanding the structure of energy bills (electricity and gas) and learning how to identify the key elements to reduce its cost.		Module 6 – Organización de actividades: los talleres This module deals with the structure and content of the workshops that are given to households, from the materials needed to carry them out to the evidences that should be collected.
Este módulo se enfoca en comprender la estructura de las facturas energéticas (electricidad y gas) y en aprender a identificar los elementos clave que permitan reducir el coste de la factura.		Este módulo aborda la estructura y contenidos de los talleres que se imparten a hogares, repasando desde los materiales necesarios para su realización hasta las evidencias que deben recogerse.

Module 7 – Organización de actividades: kits e intervenciones exteriores This module explains the objectives and contents of the household kits, as well as the different stages and activities needed for the correct development of the outdoor interventions.		Module 8 – Habilidades de gestión y comunicación This module introduces a number of techniques and strategies in order to help SEPAs carry out activities with households, with a special focus on children.
Este módulo explica los objetivos y contenidos de los kits para hogares, así como las diferentes etapas y actividades necesarias para el correcto desarrollo de las intervenciones exteriores.		Este módulo introduce varias técnicas y estrategias con el fin de ayudar al SEPAs a llevar a cabo las actividades con hogares, y donde se presta especialmente atención a la infancia.

Module 9 – LGPD y ética This module reviews data protection requirements according to regional, national and European legislation. It also addresses ethical issues that SEPAs should be aware of.
Este módulo repasa los requisitos en materia de protección de datos de acuerdo a la legislación autonómica, estatal y europea. También se abordan cuestiones éticas que los/las SEPAs deben tener en cuenta.
